Klondike Derby was a great time! With over 60 sled teams and a foot of snow we had a blast. The Klondike page is updated with the Awards and Ribbons and some great pictures from the day!

Be sure to get your new scouts and adult volunteers registered before December ends. We want to be a Quality District again this year. Don't forget about your Unit Recharter either.

Here's the application form for the for the Spring 2003 WoodBadge course. This is a 2 weekend, 3-day each weekend course. Registration is due before March 18th, 2003.

The program will be one overnight at camp Squanto from Saturday October 26th to Sunday October 27th at noon. Registration will be from 1:00-1:30pm on the 26th. For full details and to register, get the form here!

Low Impact / Leave No Trace Camping, which teaches about the Low Impact/Leave No Trace Camping Ethic and the fundamentals of Basic Backpacking, will be offered over 2 weekends at Camp Squanto

Cub Scouts and Cub leader mark your calendar for this year Cub Family Day which will be held at the Bridgewater Raynham High School in Bridgewater. The date is Saturday October 26th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. At this year event Maurice Haines will demonstrate the wonder of science and how it is used. Also at the event we will have Magician Steven Brenner who will astonish us with his uses magic. In between these to performers we will give the scouts a genius bag and have them create something from the contents in the bag. Please keep your eyes open for your flyer that will appear at the September and October roundtable. The cost will be $4.00 per person, and all registration form must be turn into Council office by October 4th at 4 p.m.

Boy Scouts and Boy Scout leader you are invite to Squanto District Fall Camporee on October 18th through the 20th at Camp Massasoit in Plymouth. At this year Fall Camporee we will honing our pioneering skills while competing against other troops. Each troop will be asked to create and run one pioneering event of their choice. Please note that stations can be run jointly with another troop. Also at the Camporee scouts will be shown pioneering skills that can be used to make camp gadgets. While at Camp Massasoit, troops are encouraged to challenge other troops to the obstacle course or the archery range. On Saturday evening there will be a Dutch oven cook off, each troop should enter one pioneering delicacy. During Saturday afternoon each campsite will be grade on their proper setup of the site, in case of a tie your camp gadgets will determine the winner. Awards will be presented to the Top three troops in each of the events. (Pioneering Events, Camp setup and Dutch Oven Cook Off)
This year cost for the Fall Camporee will be $8.00 per person including leaders. Registration form will be in given out at September and October roundtable. All registration form must be turn into the Council office by October 4th at 4 p.m.
